Today, we ventured from our idyllic lakeside location in Colorado to Moab, UT. Once we got out of the Rockies, there was kinda nothing as far as the eye could see, and by nothing, we really mean, NUFFIN. The funny part of this drive was to look around at the vast emptiness all the way to the horizon as you pass an exit sign with “No Services” emblazoned underneath. Seriously, no ****, Sherlock. You think we needed your freakin’ road sign to tell us that there is precisely nada in the way of civiliation here??? That little written confirmation of the glaringly obvious struck us as funny.
After about an hour of driving through nothing, punctuated by construction delays, we arrived at Arches National Park. We have officially run out of adjectives to describe these places. This one is about as hospitable as a seat on a hill of fire ants, but it sure is beautiful. We will let the pictures speak for themselves. We did a good bit of hiking, which we believe would have made Jenn’s mother proud.
